Barbara Glauber & Jonathan Hoefler welcome a small group to visit their studios for a behind the scenes look at their work and their NoHo offices. Begin at Heavy Meta to meet Barbara and see how many books can fit into a small studio space. Then a short walk down the hall will take you to Hoefler & Co, one of New York’s leading type foundries. Meet Jonathan and the crew. See what it takes to deliver up some of the finest work out there.

About Barbara Glauber
Barbara Glauber founded the design studio Heavy Meta in 1990. The studio focuses on projects for cultural institutions, collaborating with artists, curators, and editors to create monographs, interdisciplinary exhibitions, information graphics, and identities. Barbara has an MFA from CalArts and teaches design at Yale and Cooper Union.
About Jonathan Hoefler
Jonathan Hoefler has been designing typefaces since 1989. His company, Hoefler & Co., designs fonts for print, web, and mobile applications, and is home to well known typefaces such as Knockout, Gotham, Mercury, and Archer. A two-time honoree of the National Design Award, H&Co.’s work is in the permanent collections of both the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
